As soloist, lecturer, and master class presenter, he has appeared at every major north American Bach Festival, and at Bach festivals in Europe, South America, and Japan.

Nachrichten) on the operatic stage, David has performed 59 principal operatic roles with the
San Francisco Opera; Chicago Lyric Opera; Metropolitan Opera; Houston Grand Opera; Washington
National Opera at the Kennedy Center; Hamburg Staatsoper (Germany), and many other international
companies.
A prolific classical recording artist, he can be heard on 15 CDs for RCA Red Seal, Decca, London, Telarc, Dorian, Newport, and Vox.
In addition to his performing career, David
has always been a dedicated teacher, coach, and vocal mentor. His private students include professional
singers on major operatic and concert stages of North America and Europe; soloists in musical
theater, jazz, and pop; voice-over and commercial artists; and actors on stage and TV. With every
student, David shares his good humor, his artistic insight, and his first-hand understanding
of vocal technique and singing onstage.
David has been associated with the Carmel
Bach Festival for 22 seasons. He joined the ensemble as tenor soloist, and currently serves as
Dramaturge, Educator, and Director of the Vocal Master Class. David produces all Festival supertitles
and in-concert projections; he scripts and narrates the Festival's annual "Aha" concerts with
orchestra, chorus and soloists; presents most of the pre-concert lectures; creates in-house and
audience educational material; auditions and produces several youth music concerts at the Festival;
and with the other members of the Artistic Team he helps plan the entire Festival season.
David Gordon has served on the music faculty
of Sonoma State University and the University of California, Berkeley. He maintains a busy private
voice teaching studio in Carmel, California. He is married to Ginna
B. B. Gordon, an artist and cookbook author.
