Colleen
is well-known to Carmel Bach Festival audiences as a soprano
in the Festival Chorale from 2006-2008.
She
received a Bachelor of Music in vocal performance in 2006, a
Bachelor of Music Education in 2007, and completed her Master
of Music in vocal performance in December of 2008, all from Indiana
University.
She
has studied with Dale Moore and Robert Harrison, and
has also participated in master classes with Carol Vaness and
Roger Vignoles. At Indiana University Colleen has appeared as
the soprano soloist for performances such as Handel’s Alexander’s Feast, Vivaldi’s
Gloria, the Bach Magnificat, and Mass in
G by both Poulenc and
Vaughan Williams, and worked under the batons of Jan Harrington,
William Jon Gray, Dale Warland, and Jörg Ritter.
Colleen
also spent time in Milan where she studied with Patrizia
Zanardi and performed in recital at the Casa di Verdi. In Bloomington,
Colleen has sung with Spanish baroque ensemble Fenix de
los Ingenios. In
December of 2008 she joined the group as a guest solo
artist for their series of Christmas Matins celebration concerts,
and was a part of the choir this past May for a performance of
Vespers to Nuestra Señora Del Pilar by Joseph Ruiz Samaniego.
Colleen
has also sung with Apollo’s Voice for the Indianapolis
Symphony under the direction of Jan Harrington, Raymond Leppard,
and Mario Venzago. This June she joined the Lafayette Bach Chorale
Singers as a soloist for Steven Sametz’ The Choir Invisible,
directed by William Jon Gray.
Last
May Colleen took Third Place in the Gerhard Herz Young Artist’s Competition with the
Louisville Bach Society.
