American soprano Angela Cadelago made her professional debut as Adele in Die Fledermaus with San Francisco Lyric Opera in 1999, and has since performed such leading roles as Rosina in The Barber of Seville, and Mimì in La Bohéme.
Future engagements include role of Alba in the West Coast premiére of Robert X. Rodríguez’ new opera, La Curandera (Cinnabar Theater, 2007); during the 2008-2009 season, Angela will appear as Papagena in Opera Santa Barbara's production of Die Zauberflöte.
An accomplished concert singer, Ms. Cadelago has appeared in recital both in Italy, and in Denmark (where she was a featured student of Ileana Cotrubas). In the United States, she has appeared as a soloist with the Young Musicians Foundation Debut Orchestra, the Oratorio Society of Queens, the Palo Alto Philharmonic, the Mill Valley Philharmonic, and the Northern Delaware Oratorio Society in works such as Mahler's Fourth Symphony, Handel's Messiah, J.S. Bach’s Gottes Zeit ist die Allerbeste Zeit (BWV 106), and both Mozart’s Regina Coeli and Mass in C ("Coronation Mass").
Ms. Cadelago is a prize-winning performer whose competition credits and awards include finalist in the Metropolitan Opera Regional Auditions (2005), Individual Artist Fellow with the Delaware Division of the Arts (2005), a recording grant from the Contemporary Record Society (2004), New Jersey Alliance of Performing Artists competition finalist (2004), and Bel Canto Vocal Scholarship Foundation Competition finalist (2002).
Ms. Cadelago is a native of California's Napa Valley, earned her Bachelor of Music degree from San Francisco State University, and has written for Classical Singer Magazine.
Also an accomplished pianist, Angela resides in the San Francisco Bay Area and works extensively as a professional accompanist.
